TOTW Predictions – Week 41

David Ousted – GK – 66 OVR

Ousted left NYRB wondering what they needed to do after he saved both of BWP’s penalties along with making four other saves to help Whitecaps to a 2-1 away win against the Red Bulls. Presumably Ousted will pick up the player of the week award and I can’t remember the last time an MLS keeper didn’t pick up an IF after receiving POTW, especially in a week like this.

Donald Toia – LB- 62 OVR

Toia scored one of Montreal’s two goals in a 2-0 win over Orlando after connecting with a corner in order to score at the front post. I am unsure if he will make the side as I actually prefer my other Montreal selection but in a week like this it’s possible that we will see both.

Laurent Ciman – CB – 73 OVR

Ciman has been outstanding throughout his time in the MLS with many fans claiming he is the best the MLS has seen. This weekend was no different with him once again standing out as Montreal managed a clean sheet in their 2-0 win over Orlando. Will we see two Montreal players only time will tell but I couldn’t leave either of the two players out.

Lars Vilsvik – CB – 72 OVR

A very easy choice here after Vilsvik scored one and assisted the other as Strømsgodset managed a 2-1 home win against newly promoted Tromso. Vilsvik claimed a seven from the source I use which is the joint highest for this week.

Hong Chul – LM- 69 OVR

The first of two Suwon players comes in the form of a rapid LM after Chul assisted three of Suwon’s four goals in a 4-3 win. AFAIK he played in the LM position but seeing as he is a LB on FUT I would guess that that is his usual position.

Matias Pérez García – CM – 74 OVR

Some very nice stats in terms of FUT for Garcia with 83 pace, 80 dribbling and 75 passing on a silver CM. with the only possible problem being that he is 5ft 4. Either way I would be surprised not to see him this this side after he was involved in both of SJ’s goals with a goal and assist in their 2-0 win over Seattle.

Javier Morales – CAM – 75 OVR

The second of three golds this week is Morales who helped guide RSL to a 2-1 win against SKC. He assisted both of the goals and seeing that he’s a gold I can’t see him missing out.

Santos – CAM – 67 OVR

Santos claimed K-League player of the week for the midweek schedule after he scored twice in Suwon’s 4-3 thriller to overcome Jeju. If the first game was not enough he then added another two goals to his claim after scoring both Suwon goals in their 2-2 home draw with league leaders Jeonbuk.

Juninho – CM – 73 OVR

Another decent looking brasilver this week with Juninho after he scored one of Galaxy’s five goals in their 5-1 win. A bit of a punt but I really struggled for players this week and Juninho claimed a few headlines.

David Villa – ST – 80 OVR

I may have wrongly predicted Villa’s SIF last week however if anything that just backs up the form that Villa is currently in. He scored another two goals this weekend as NYFC managed another win this time taking them away from the foot of the table as they won 2-0 away at 4th place Toronto.

Gyasi Zardes – ST – 70 OVR

LA Galaxy looked to be back to last seasons form this weekend after putting five past Philadelphia in their 5-1 home win. Zardes as was often the case last season was pivotal to that success scoring once and assisting another two along with hitting the woodwork. Omar Gonzalez could also feature for his assist and defensive display but I think Zardes is the obvious choice here.

Sten Michael Grytebust – GK – 66 OVR

There were numerous keepers from both the Tipp and the K-league who could make this slot but I have opted for Grytebust who made six saves during Aalesunds 1-1 draw with the impressive Stabaek. He received the MOTM award unlike many of the other options I had which is largely why I selected him.

Lim Jong Eun – CB – 64 OVR

Lim Jong Eun scored one of Jeonams two goals in their 2-0 win however he only received a 6.5 match rating, which is not bad for Korea but not great either. He did make their totw however which is why I decided for him in the end.

Lee Jae Myung – CB – 62 OVR

It is very unlike Jeonbuk to go three games without a win but that is exactly what happened before this weekend where they managed a 2-1 win against Ulsan. They went 1-0 down just before the break but showed great character to turn it around. Lee Jae Myung scored the winning goal and claimed MOTM which is why he is selected here.

Roque – CAM – 61 OVR

I feel that Las Palmas will feature in this TOTW after they managed a 2-0 win over Zaragoza which meant they were promoted to the BBVA. Who that player will be though is a harder question. I believe that it will be between Araujo who scored the second, Aythami who assisted one and kept the clean sheet or Roque, who I have selected after he scored the opener. A hard call to make but Las Palmas should feature nevertheless

Fredrik Midtsjø – CM – 59 OVR

The young Norwegian made the leap from the relegated Sandnes Ulf to title contenders Rosenborg during the Norwegian end of season. He showed week why they bought him after guiding Rosenborg to their 2-0 away win against Sarpsborg by assisting both of the goals.

Veton Berisha – ST – 66 OVR

Berisha was not actually MOTM in this game but seeing as Adegbenro is not in the game I will select him for this team. He was involved in two of Viking’s goals in their impressive 3-0 away win at Bodo. Berisha put a goal and assist to his name and claimed a 7/10 match rating for doing so.

Chris Rolfe – ST- 66 OVR

Rolfe makes it three MLS strikers for the week which could be classed as excessive but when they are the only ones scoring more than one what can you do. Rolfe scored both DC goals as they managed to come from a goal behind in order to beat New England 2-1.

Brazilian Women’s Hot Football Game

In appearence, maybe. About 20% of women here have this body (usually rich girls or dancers like these ones), even though brazilian women in general do care a bit more about a appearence than most of the countries. But intelligence and personality… No. These are dumb media girls, who spend the whole day in the gym and dance at some TV shows, they smile and applause everything anyone says, and don’t represent 99% of women here. Most of us are simple women like every other woman in the world. We are smart, we do our best and we work our butts off to pay the bills. It’s sad to see how we are seen by the rest of the world.
